UNESCO Supports FESTIBABA 2026 and Strengthens the Transmission of Baka and Bantu Cultural Heritage

This edition helped strengthen the links between culture, ecotourism and inclusive conservation around the Sangha Trinational, while highlighting the central role of Indigenous Peoples and local communities in the preservation of World Heritage sites. By bringing together communities, authorities, conservation partners, and visitors from the three countries, FESTIBABA 2026 strengthened cross-border dialogue and recognition of communities as key actors in safeguarding cultural and natural heritage.

Through this initiative, UNESCO reaffirms its commitment to promoting living cultural heritage, transmitting traditional knowledge and advancing sustainable and inclusive tourism within World Heritage sites.

See you in 2027 for the sixth edition of FESTIBABA!
